Amanda D. Pype
Amanda is a MSc student and graduate research assistant. Her research interests include visual perception and cognition, attention, visual analytics, and decision making with uncertainty. Currently, she is looking at the use of data visualization in collaborative decision making.
Recently Amanda completed an internship at Tableau Software. Her duties there included development and delivery of a training course designed to help customers strenghten their analytic and visualization design skills. After her internship, she accepted a full time position as a trainer.
Amanda earned her B.A. in Psychology from Western Washington University in 2008, and worked as a research assistant at the University of Washington from 2008-2010. Her undergraduate research topics spanned from creativity and insight to divided attention and visual perception. These projects employed a wide range of methodologies including experimentation, observation and semi-structured interviewing.
